LEDMatrixBoard — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-06
Last updated: 2026-10-06
LEDMatrixBoard - LED Banner Scroller (“the app”) is built and operated by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how you control it. It applies to the LEDMatrixBoard app for iPhone and iPad distributed through the Apple App Store.
Summary (the short version)
- No account. No login. No email collected.
- Your boards stay on your device. The text you type, your saved boards, the photos you pick as backgrounds and the videos and GIFs you export are never uploaded to us.
- Free users see ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising data to show and measure ads. It only uses your advertising identifier for personalised ads if you allow tracking in Apple’s prompt.
- Purchases are handled by Apple and verified through RevenueCat using an anonymous ID.
- Premium removes all ads.
- We do not sell your data and we do not run our own analytics.
What stays on your device
The following data is created and stored only on your iPhone or iPad. We have no access to it:
- Text and settings of the boards you create (colours, fonts, motions, effects, backgrounds, frames)
- Photos you choose as a board background (picked with the system photo picker, which only gives the app the photo you select)
- MP4 videos and GIFs you export. If you choose Save to Photos, the app asks for permission to add items to your photo library; it cannot read your library.
Deleting a board in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes this data.
What is collected, and by whom
If you use the free version, the app shows a banner ad, occasional full-screen ads, and an optional rewarded ad before export. These are provided by Google AdMob. To serve, limit and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking, and an identifier for vendors
- Advertising data (ads shown, clicks, impressions)
- Product interaction (app launches, taps on ads)
- Coarse location derived from your IP address
- Device information (model, OS version, language), and diagnostic data about ad performance
This data is used for third-party advertising and is not linked to your identity by us.
Your choices:
- Apple’s tracking prompt (App Tracking Transparency). The app asks once whether it may track you. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the IDFA is not shared and you see non-personalised or contextual ads. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland. Before any ads load, the app shows Google’s consent form so you can accept or decline personalised ads. You can change your choice later in the app under Settings → Privacy → Privacy Choices.
- Premium. Buying LEDMatrixBoard Premium (annual or lifetime) removes all ads, so the ad SDK no longer requests ads.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
2. Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
LEDMatrixBoard Premium is sold as an auto-renewing annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details, name or Apple ID.
To check whether you own Premium and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:
- An anonymous, randomly generated app user ID (not linked to your name, email or Apple ID)
- Purchase history (which product, when, and whether a subscription is active)
- Basic device information (OS version, app version, country/storefront)
This data is used only to provide app functionality (unlocking Premium). See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
3. Feedback email
If you use Send Feedback or email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
What we do not collect
- Your name, phone number, postal address or contacts
- Your Apple ID or iCloud account information
- Precise location
- The text or content of your boards
- Your camera, microphone, health or calendar data
- Data from other apps or browsing history (other than what Google AdMob collects as described above, and only with your consent where required)

Data retention and deletion
- Data on your device is deleted when you delete a board or uninstall the app.
- Advertising data is kept by Google under its own retention policy. You can reset your advertising identifier or turn off tracking in iOS Settings.
- RevenueCat purchase records are kept so your purchases can be restored. To ask for deletion of the record tied to your anonymous ID, email us from the app (Settings → Send Feedback) or at the address below, and we will handle the request with RevenueCat.
Children
LEDMatrixBoard is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Decree), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold data linked to your identity, most requests are best handled through the choices above; for anything else, contact us.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, show a notice in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
